Stone-lined Rocas vents on the Plaza Menor

Stone-lined Rocas vents on the Plaza Menor

Description

The top surface of Plaza Menor is level with the base of Building A and below the plaza's surface is a system of stone-lined drains and canals, part of the Rocas. A series of stone-lined vents above these canals, as pictured here, are thought to have produced the effect of Temple A 'roaring' as water cascaded under it.
