Description The so-called basilica was situated on the northern side of the grounds. Originally, this used to be a free surface (palaestra). During Phase II it was a columned hall (porticus), and during Phase III it was a gymnasium. Here, the bathing guests gathered to perform gymnastic exercises. Almost nothing was preserved of this structure, but historic restoration is possible from study of the foundations and our knowledge of Roman building forms.
