Elevation of southern facade, Roman Baths, Weißenburg

Elevation of southern facade, Roman Baths, Weißenburg
What is a an Elevation?

Description

A third small Tepidarium is situated on the southern side (exit area) which dates from the last construction phase. It lay as a connection and transition room between Caldarium and the big Frigidarium. The guest of the third century in the Frigidarium had the choice to access the Caldarium either via the shortcut through this small Tepidarium or by taking the lengthy route through the bath and sauna via the Tepidaria 2 and 1. This was the advantage of a plan where the baths were clustered rather than in a row.
