A Brief Introduction
The world's largest religious structure, Angkor Wat was built over the course of 37 years. Placed on the UNESCO endangered site list in 1992, this project was designed to gather HDS scans and photographs of the Angkor Wat Western Causeway and the temple Banteay Kdei. The data set was used to support on-going reconstruction and stabilization of various Angkor monuments by Sophia University.
Statement of Data QualityThe Angkor Wat Western Causeway and the Banteay Kdei temple were digitially documented in order to support on-going reconstruction and stabilization work with accurate 3D information. Other temples and structures, including the rest of Angkor Wat, were not included in the original scope of this project and any supplemental photographs or media were included in the site to provide contextual information. Additional Digital Preservation data may be added to the Angkor project as it becomes available to CyArk.
